Responsibilities:
- Perform electronic and manual posting functions for payment and account adjustment transactions.
- Maintain accurate payment and adjustment information for accounts receivable follow-up.
- Post transactions to multiple sites and balance posted amounts.
- Maintain logs and records of payments received and bank deposits made.
- Prepare daily cash deposits and drops off PO Box mail.
- Research and correct problems in posting payments, credit balances, and adjustments.
- Maintain knowledge of insurance contracts and reimbursement methodology.
- Communicate with patients, physicians, families, and coworkers via phone and in person.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1 year's experience in related service preferred.
- Working knowledge of health insurance contracts and hospital billing practices.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and data entry.
