Diesel Technician at Cummins Inc. in Boise, Idaho, United States Job Description DESCRIPTION Job Summary : Completes troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop independently while coaching and developing less experienced technicians We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician / Mechanic to join our Distribution business in (Boise, ID). will make an impact in the following ways : We offer sign-on bonus, relocation, competitive pay and benefits. Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop Perform maintenance / repairs utilizing diagnostic tools Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies Ongoing development / certifications on new and existing Cummins products Maintain own tools In order to be successful in this role you will need the following : RESPONSIBILITIES : Ability to troubleshoot with limited / no support from diagnostic tools Larger more complicated engine rebuilds Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation QUALIFICATIONS 1. Diagnose and repair various engines. 2. Engine rebuilding and reconditioning. 3. Do complete bumper to bumper inspections and complete relevant repairs. 4. Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and report any issues / incidents to the Supervisor. DOT - A current valid CDL is required for this role. - This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free of major violations - This role is subject to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) drug and alcohol testing requirements and on going random drug and alcohol testing - This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical - This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use - Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age' Education, Licenses, Certifications : Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred) Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution Locally valid driving permit (Preferred) This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
