Electrical Superintendent - Industrial Construction at TIC - The Industrial Company in Boise, Idaho, United States Job Description Requisition ID : 172442 Job Level : Mid Level Home District / Group : TIC Denver Department : Field Supervision Market : Industrial Employment Type : Full Time Position Overview We are looking for an mid career Electrical Superintendent to support projects in our Industrial and Water market, to supervise electrical operations on self-performed construction projects. You will be expected to provide oversight and training, as well as daily inspections of work performed. You will act as liaison and coordinator between contractors and engineered equipment suppliers and solve problems that arise. Our team 'goes where the work is', so you will be expected to travel to various projects around the US. District Overview TIC is a Kiewit Subsidiary that provides direct-hire construction services for industrial projects. TIC has projects in Power, Industrial Manufacturing, Oil Gas Chemical, and Mining across the United States. Its projects range from small capital work up to major EPC projects. We are looking for people committed to the construction industry in an 'open-shop' environment. Location This position will be located on one of our project sites and / or in our headquarters in Denver, CO. Candidate must be open to traveling and relocating as needed. Initial project location likely in Western Tennessee. Responsibilities Provide supervisory direction of electrical craft workers via the general foreman and foreman, managing the performance of productivity, safety, quality and schedule adherence to the project. Liaison between field engineering and craft to ensure compliance of construction drawings and specifications Coordinate and interface effectively with other superintendents and subcontractors, as well as Kiewit staff personnel and leadership to ensure smooth workflow and schedule adherence Resolve employee conflicts, grievances, and scheduling difficulties, informing project and corporate management as appropriate Assist in schedule planning, determining craft labor levels, material quantities, and equipment requirements Ensure project rules, procedures and programs are followed consistently, including those involving safety, attendance, and workplace behavior standards as reflected in Company's non-harassment and nondiscrimination policies Establish budgetary guidelines for the job and ensure that cost control measures are being followed. Provide job safety training and awareness for all personnel. Establish quality standards of all jobs and ensure that all quality assurance and company standards are being met. Develop and manage job schedules (e.g., three-week, 90 day, man loading), coordinate work with contractors and deliveries with suppliers and ensure inspections are scheduled appropriately. Qualifications 5 years' work experience in the self-perform construction industry, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role overseeing electrical craft employees. 3 years previous knowledge and work experience within electrical construction is required. Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines : safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, engineering drawings, procurement, estimating Demonstrated ability to efficiently supervise and evaluate craft performance. Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative; great leadership skills with the ability to mentor and grow our employees. Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time. Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt.
