Financial Underwriter at Humana in Boise, Idaho, United States Job Description Become a part of our caring community and help us put health first The Financial Underwriter 2 computes rates for both renewing and prospective moderate to complex group accounts. The Financial Underwriter 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action. The Financial Underwriter 2 prepares a variety of financial reports for large accounts and provides rationale and support to other areas within the organization and to clients regarding rate computations and financial activity. Provides expense estimates and accurate analysis of financial exhibits. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines / procedures. Use your skills to make an impact Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Less than 5 years of underwriting or financial analysis / risk analysis experience Comprehensive understanding of risk pool management Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Access Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences Preferred Qualifications Experience analyzing health related data Experience rating of Dental / Vision and Life products for Employers Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Pay Range The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$57,700 - $79,500 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan.
