Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful as a Maintenance Mechanic, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:
- Three years of maintenance experience or completion of an apprenticeship program.
- Technical program or equivalent experience in industrial maintenance.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Associates' Degree or Certificate in industrial maintenance technology (preferred).
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and with heavy lifting (over 50 pounds).
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment is desired.
Additionally, you should have basic computer skills, knowledge of current environmental regulations, and be familiar with CMMS systems.
