About Phlebotomist-PRN at St. Mary's Health & Clearwater Valley Health
In Cottonwood, Idaho, United States, we have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Phlebotomist-PRN. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing phlebotomy functions and non-technical duties in areas including the hospital laboratory, outpatient and clinic services.
Essential Job Functions:
- Perform phlebotomy (venipuncture, finger stick, heel stick, and bleeding time) according to established procedure.
- Identify patients and properly label specimen tubes.
- Determine priority of STAT draws.
- Ensure timely transport of all patient specimens to lab for testing.
- Help co-workers when needed and communicate with laboratory departments when needed to ensure an orderly work flow.
- Follow hospital exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens.
- Maintain confidentiality of all hospital and patient information at all times.
- Follow HIPAA regulations and policies.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function.
- Communicate with patients, families and co-workers in person, in writing and on telephone.
Minimum Qualifications:
- One year of phlebotomy experience, preferred
- Must be able to prioritize and multitask
