Those applicants that take and pass the exam to show they meet the minimum qualifications will be placed on the referral list. When a position becomes available, the hiring supervisor will then directly contact those applicants they wish to interview off the referral list. This position is not eligible for telework. There may be times in which training and other paperwork may be completed from home. The job duties, however, require that the Family Service Worker perform most if not all duties at the office and in the field. Assess interview information to determine substantiation of referrals and prepare written intake reports. Make on-site evaluations of foster homes to determine suitability of facilities and service providers for licensure / certification. Design, organize, implement, and monitor effectiveness of case plans using an array of community resources to resolve issues. Facilitate client access to support services. Complete need and risk assessments on cases and determine eligibility for services and level of care. Carry a full caseload in child welfare. Develop appropriate safety plans for children addressing special needs of clients. Participate in interdisciplinary team staffing to modify treatment plans. Prepare case record notes attesting to engagement with client and results from specific kinds of service. Prepare court reports, affidavits, testimony, etc. for required court proceedings. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIALTY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : You must possess all the minimum / specialty minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. Good knowledge of human services principles and practices including behavioral management methods, social and family systems, cognitive behavioral education and case management methods. Typically gained by a Certification as a Psychosocial Rehabilitation Specialist in accordance with USPRA requirementsORBachelor's degree in social work, behavioral science, education, or healthcare from a nationally accredited university or college and included at least 21 semester credit hours in human services fields such as psychology, social work, special education, counseling, and psychosocial rehabilitationOR2-4 upper division courses as stated above AND 2-4 years' work experienceORexperience that represents the knowledge level above. Computer literacy for data entry, electronic mail, composing reports and letters, and storing and retrieving documents. Valid driver's license.
