Safety/HR Coordinator Job Description
The Safety/HR Coordinator will work closely with the plant manager, supervisors, and hourly associates to support our continued focus on safety excellence. This includes maintaining OSHA VPP status at all facilities.
We are looking for a candidate who can work effectively with all levels of management, be flexible in their day-to-day activities, and make decisions on controversial matters.
Responsibilities include leading small improvement teams, conducting audits and inspections, coaching, presenting, and intervening one-on-one. The ideal candidate will be bi-lingual in English and Spanish.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain OSHA VPP status at all facilities
- Lead small improvement teams
- Conduct audits and inspections
- Coach, present, and intervene one-on-one
- Recruit, interview, and onboard production and maintenance staff
- Plan employee engagement activities
- Support human resources/employee relations tasks
Basic Qualifications:
- College Degree
- BCSP, ASP, or equivalent work experience in related job function
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in safety, industrial hygiene, or a related science
- At least 1-3 years of experience in related job function
This position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse groups. A background in safety, HR, or a related field is preferred.
