Retail Cashier Job Description
We are seeking a Retail Cashier to join our team at Idaho State Job Bank in Council, Idaho. As a Retail Cashier, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and ensuring a fast and friendly checkout experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet every customer with a smile and thank them for their business.
- Deliver a fast, friendly, and professional checkout experience.
- Suggest purchases to the customer to promote store specials.
- Accurately ring up sales and merchandise, offering customers available discounts/promotions while following all company policies and applicable laws regarding restricted sales.
- Maintain cleanliness inside and outside the store.
- Restock shelves, displays, and coolers as needed.
- Clean fast-food area, equipment, and stock as needed.
- Ensure proper sanitation and food handling/prep/storage/disposal procedures are followed.
- Properly label, rotate and stock shelves, coolers, and displays.
Requirements:
- Previous Cashier or Customer Service experience is a plus, but not required.
- A willingness and passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
- Excellent communication with a friendly can-do attitude.
- Availability to support business needs for a 24/7 operation including nights, holidays, and weekends.
- Experience leading by example and doing the right thing, always.
