Job Description

The Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach will work collaboratively with the Head Coach in all aspects of the program’s organization, recruitment, and administration. This includes supporting a competitive NCAA Division I women’s soccer program that competes in the Big Sky Conference while upholding the mission and values of Idaho State University Athletics.

The anticipated start date for this position is July 1, 2025.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Head Coach in the day-to-day operations of the program, including practice planning, game preparation, and off-season training programs.
  • Recruiting, developing, and retaining high-level women’s soccer student-athletes in alignment with the program’s competitive goals.
  • Managing and maintaining recruiting databases (e.g., ARMS, Front Rush, etc.) while coordinating all recruiting communications and follow-ups.
  • Monitoring student-athletes’ academic progress and supporting their personal and professional development.
  • Ensuring compliance with NCAA, Big Sky Conference, Idaho State University, and State of Idaho rules and regulations, including eligibility, recruiting, and academic progress requirements.
  • Organizing team travel and logistics, including coordinating transportation, lodging, and meals.
  • Planning and executing youth and high school "ID" soccer camps to evaluate and identify potential student-athletes (PSAs); serving as camp director and selecting coaching staff.
  • Scheduling competitive spring season games while managing the program’s budgetary constraints.
  • Managing and conducting inventory of team equipment, gear, and uniforms.
  • Contributing to the program’s social media presence, including content creation, recruiting engagement, and brand-building efforts.
  • Handling financial responsibilities, including budget planning and expense tracking.
  • Coaching and implementing team and goalkeeper training sessions, with a clear understanding of whether goalkeeping responsibilities are primary or secondary.
  • Using HUDL and other video analysis tools to analyze game film and enhance tactical understanding for individual and team development.
  • Actively recruiting at various national and international tournaments and showcases.
  • Serving as a key liaison for prospective student-athletes by managing recruiting communications, including emails, calls, and follow-ups with players and families.
  • Promoting a culture that supports student-athletes in achieving their maximum potential in competition, academics, and personal growth.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach and the University.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field.
  • Previous coaching experience with demonstrated ability to recruit and develop high-level student-athletes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, digital video editing/analysis, and athletics recruiting software.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA compliance regulations, including eligibility, recruiting, and academic progress rules.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Coaching experience at the collegiate level
  • USSF "D" License or equivalent
  • Goalkeeper coaching licenses

Additional Information

Salary will be $31,500 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
