Job Description
The Educational Content Specialist (Counselor) in the Albion Center for Professional Development will be responsible for facilitating online courses (non-degree) for P-12 educators. The specialist will promote student success through interactivity and feedback, as well as auditing and reviewing course content and assessments. Specialists will report to the Director of Instruction. The Albion Center for Professional Development serves thousands of online students across the nation annually.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and facilitate online course forums promoting interactivity
- Provide check-ins and feedback to students in courses
- Review, audit, and edit course content and assessments
- Address student concerns with the instructional team ensuring student success
- Participate in center meetings and processes as invited
- The ability to occasionally handle questions or concerns and offer solutions outside regular office hours (weekends, evenings, or during university closures/holidays)
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Counseling or Social Work
- 5 years experience counseling in P-12 or related field
- Experience with curriculum design, development, and assessment instruments
- Experience with online course development and online instruction
- Experience with innovation in online/distance learning
- High organization and communication skills
- 1 years experience advising and mentoring students
Preferred Qualifications
- Broad interdisciplinary instructional experience
- Experience with interactive assessment instruments
- Instructional Design Certificate or equivalent
Additional Information

Salary will be between $60,000 - $70,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
