Freight Broker/Dispatcher

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our team. The Dispatcher will be responsible for coordinating and dispatching transportation services to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods. The ideal candidate will have experience in logistics, fleet management, and supply chain operations. Strong communication skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and schedule transportation services to meet customer demands

-Communicate with customers regarding any changes or updates to their orders or deliveries

- Dispatch drivers and monitor their progress using fleet management software
- Communicate with drivers to provide instructions, updates, and support
- Track shipments and update customers on delivery status
- Resolve any issues or delays in transportation services
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including driver logs, fuel usage, and maintenance reports
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize transportation routes and improve efficiency
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and safety standards

Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Dispatcher or in a similar role preferred
- Knowledge of transportation management systems is a plus
- Familiarity with 3PL (third-party logistics) operations and freight forwarding processes
- Strong data entry skills with attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure
- Knowledge of fleet management principles and practices
- Understanding of supply chain operations and logistics concepts
- Proficient in using computer systems and software applications related to dispatching functions
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Familiarity with GIS (Geographic Information System) software is a plus
