Summary
The Commercial Parts Specialist will play a critical role in supporting customers with efficient, accurate and cost-effective sourcing of parts for their project needs. This position requires an individual with strong technical knowledge of commercial truck parts, a customer-first mindset, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in the commercial vehicle or automotive parts industry and a strong ability to work collaboratively with customers, vendors, and internal teams to deliver exceptional upfitting solutions.

- Direct to Branch Manager
- Indirect to Supply Chain Manager
Key Responsibilities:
Parts Sales and Business Development:
- Identify and target potential commercial customers in industries such as construction, utilities, logistics, and more.
- Develop and maintain relationships with fleet managers, purchasing managers, and other decision-makers.
- Recommend tailored upfitting solutions that meet client requirements and budget constraints.
Customer Service & Relationship Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers regarding parts inquiries and order statuses.
- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that parts are delivered on time and meet the required quality standards.
- Work closely with the production, engineering, and customer service teams to ensure timely delivery of products to customers.
- Follow up with customers after products are delivered to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.
Technical Support
- Provide technical expertise to customers regarding parts and components used in truck upfitting.
- Assist customers in identifying the correct parts based on their vehicle model, specifications, and customization requirements.
- Troubleshoot parts-related issues and provide solutions to ensure minimal downtime for upfitting projects.
Parts Sourcing & Ordering:
- Identify and source truck upfitting parts and components that meet customer needs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with parts suppliers, ensuring competitive pricing, quality, and timely delivery of parts.
- Manage inventory levels to ensure that parts are available when needed, without overstocking.
Product Knowledge and Expertise:
- Stay informed about the latest trends, products, and technologies in the truck upfitting industry.
- Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to ensure feasibility and accuracy of upfitting proposals.
- Provide clients with detailed information on the benefits and features of various upfitting options.
Quoting and Proposal Management:
- Prepare and present accurate quotes, proposals, and contracts to clients.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to secure sales while maintaining profitability.
- Manage the sales pipeline, tracking opportunities and updating CRM systems regularly.
Market Analysis and Strategy:
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and threats.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and market penetration goals.\
- Performs other related tasks as may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- 2 years of experience in parts management, commercial vehicle parts, or a related field (automotive or truck industry preferred).
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or degree in automotive technology or a related field preferred.
- Familiarity with commercial truck upfitting, truck body modifications, and aftermarket parts is highly desirable.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong understanding of commercial truck parts and components, including electrical systems, hydraulics, and body equipment.
- Knowledge of industry standards, specifications, and best practices for truck upfitting.
- Proficient with inventory management systems and order processing software.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Other Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer sites as needed.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions:
Environment:
- Full-time position with regular business hours; some overtime may be required based on project timelines.
- Must be able to work in both office and warehouse settings.
- Exposure to noise, dust, and moving machinery.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment and perform tasks such as organizing parts, pulling orders, and stocking shelves.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods during inventory management or warehouse tasks.
