You can make a difference in the lives of patients by helping to ensure that we provide great customer service to our patients and external customers! Our rapidly expanding group is Idaho’s premiere urology practice, with fifteen providers and offices in Boise, Meridian, Mountain Home and Nampa, Idaho and an outpatient surgery center (Surgery Center of Idaho) adjacent to our Meridian location.
The ideal candidate is one with the ability to multi-task, work independently and have strong organization skills as well as detail orientation. The primary focus is to obtain maximum and appropriate reimbursement for services by following patient accounts through the entire billing process from eligibility to completion of the payment process. The billing representative is responsible for preparing and submitting timely and accurate insurance claims to third party payers, following payer regulations, ensuring compliance to regulatory requirements, and verifying payments and adjustments are appropriately applied to patient accounts. In addition, strong communication skills are required to help resolve account issues with patients or pending payments from government and third-party payers.
The summary of responsibilities follows:
- Posts patient receipts, insurance and other payer remittances.
- Reviews EOBs to ensure accuracy and receipt of proper payment.
- Submits, accurately and each day, insurance claims ensuring complete coding and diagnosis information and proper documentation is provided.
- Resolves denied, pending or past due claims with payers.
- Handles patient, payer and staff inquiries.
- Performs follow up activities in a timely manner on all accounts.
- Monitors insurance claims by running appropriate reports and contacting insurance companies to resolve claims.
- Updates the patient account to identify actions or communications.
