Position Summary
The Business Development Director (BDD) is responsible for increasing gross profit and market share while developing ongoing relationships with new and existing customers. Responsible for gaining new clients and developing existing client business in line with iDC Logistics's growth strategy and the country's sales budget and targets. Responsible for prospecting new customers and closing new business within the medium-large size segment.
Job Responsibilities
- Identifies new business opportunities through contact with prospective clients in the assigned market and for cross selling new services to existing clients.
- Identifies market trends and competitive rate actions and communicates those trends to the product and management teams
- Exercises proactive solution development by creating and maintaining a client lifecycle program for his/her top clients. Build a solid understanding of target customers/assigned account base (contact, commodities/ trade lanes, type of business, contract information/exceptions, and service requirements)
- Assists and facilitates the preparation of RFQ’s and bids
- Identifies the competitive service strengths and weaknesses of the company and makes recommendations for continuous improvement initiatives
- Provides weekly and monthly performance metrics to the business development team
- Understands pricing and cost components associated with proposed solutions
- Performs other duties including sales presentations, developing deliverables, coordinating implementation, creating and adding to existing marketing materials where appropriate
- Enters new customer data and other sales data for clients into Salesforce and maintains this information per company policy
- Meets specific volume and revenue requirements for each product in the iDC Logistics portfolio as designated by the SVP, of Business Development
- Manages time and sales territory to be able to reach the desired number of sales calls (10) on a weekly basis ensuring maximum iDC exposure to the market
- Ensures effective and timely response to all sales leads/key correspondence within identified timelines
- Performs other duties as assigned by management

Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Sales/Business Development
- Experience with Global Forwarding operations and market intelligence
- Energetic, with a positive attitude
- Self-confident and willing to take responsibility
- Strong communication skills
- Experience in all facets of Import and Export operations (Air, Ocean & Customs Brokerage).
- Ability to bring sales relationships and opportunities to the Company.
- Prior P&L Management Experience.
- Solid existing relationships within the industry.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop, manage, lead and communicate effectively with staff.
- Needs to be an intermediate to advanced user of Microsoft software (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Must have worked with Cargowise before
Skills and Competencies
- Understanding of International and Domestic entities and programs including but not limited to: TSA, C-TPAT, FMCSA, FMC, IATA.
- Superior verbal, presentation, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated passion for customer service.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to effectively relate to all levels of employees, and build and maintain successful relationships
- Strong leadership communication skills
- Highly Proficient PC skills - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, email management systems
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to travel domestically up to 30-50%

Salary : $125,000 - $150,000
