Summary
The Accounts Payable position is responsible for the payment of goods and services by the organization. This role also serves as an auditor, ensuring that invoices are accurate and that proper accounting procedures are followed for the purchasing and payment of goods and services.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payables, collecting and receiving invoices from internal and external sources for timely payment.
- Post and balance invoices against statements at the end of the billing cycle, either on a certain billing date or end of month billing.
- Understanding what accounts are used for and paying the routine monthly expenses to ensure the regular functioning of the business operations.
- Complete check preparation for all activities from refunds to expenses with the organization.
- Clean schedules as needed on a regular basis
- Set up and track vendors and other individuals that require 1099 tax records, i.e., W9’s for tax reporting
- Order miscellaneous supplies and forms, including furniture or small office equipment
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in accounting or finance.
- 2 years of hands-on accounts payable experience.
- 1-year automotive dealership experience.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has limited supervisory responsibility. Occasional temp employees or interns.
Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand and climb ladders as necessary.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening, Holiday and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
This position requires no extended travel.
