Medical Assistant

This is a great opportunity if you are interested in part time work (30 hrs each month @ $20/hr) as a Medical Assistant in Marion, IN on Wednesdays plus occasional opportunities to pick up PRN opportunities in Rushville (2nd Sat; 4th Fri and Sat) and Muncie (Fri, Sat and Mon).

Hours/shifts needed:
9a-6:30pm on Wednesdays (STARTING IN OCTOBER)

Job Location:
Marion, IN

Job Duties:
The Medical Assistant rooms patients, obtains vitals, administers fine finger skills testing, conducts visual acuity testing, sometimes conducts spirometer testing (don't worry, we will train you to use this piece of equipment), keeps aware of the shift's schedule and ensures clear communication with the attending physician, calls patients to remind them of their upcoming appointments, reviews exams from their shift and ensures all needed information is present, and other duties of a similar nature.

Experience:
Previous medical office experience preferred.

Education:
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program or 5 years experience as an MA.

License:
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) license preferred.

References:
Please provide at least 2 work related references, preferably a prior supervisor (if possible).

Additional:
We are looking for a Medical Assistant who knows the technical and relational aspects of what Medical Assisting is, as well as the ability to take ownership of their shift and the equipment in their care. The ability to work well with others is a must. A strong respect for HIPAA regulations is also a must.
