The Mechanical Drafter will apply their drafting expertise to support Ideal Aerosmith's products and testing solutions. Using computer-aided design (CAD) software, they will convert initial product concepts into detailed working drawings. Additionally, they will review engineering drawings and designs to ensure compliance with established specifications and standards.

Job Responsibilities

Knowledgeable in a range of concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
Draft detailed drawings and specification of electro-mechanical devices, indicating dimensions and tolerances, fasteners and joining requirements, and other engineering data according to engineering sketches and design proposals.
Working knowledge Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
Review and analyze specifications, sketches, engineering drawings, concepts, and related design data to identify factors influencing component designs.
Position instructions and comments onto drawings and illustrates and describes installation and maintenance details.
Modify and revise designs to address operational deficiencies or minimize production issues.
Create layout drawings and reproduce illustrations for reference manuals and technical publications, describing the operation and maintenance of mechanical systems.
Perform a variety of complex tasks.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements

Associates degree in mechanical drafting & design or experience in related field.

2 years of relevant work experience.

Deep knowledge and skill with CAD systems.

Microsoft Office knowledge required.

Excellent verbal / written communication skills.

To meet the requirements for government contract work and work in a restricted facility, candidates must adhere to specific criteria set by federal regulations. This includes : 1) a U.S. citizen (whether born or naturalized); 2) a lawful permanent resident of the United States; or 3) a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C.

Physical Requirements

Must have the ability to lift and / or carry 45 lbs.

Ability to work for extended periods at computer workstation / keyboard.

The position will require walking, standing, squatting, crouching, stooping, lifting, climbing, pulling, pushing, sitting, repetitive motion and kneeling.
