Overview
We are seeking a skilled Skid Loader Operator to join our team at a Ideal Construction in Staples MN. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience with various heavy machinery, including loaders, bulldozers, and backhoes. As a Skid Loader Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of equipment to facilitate construction projects.
Duties
- Operate loader equipment to move materials around the construction site efficiently.
- Perform daily inspections and maintenance on machinery to ensure safe and effective operation.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate loading and unloading of materials from dump trucks and tankers.
- Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve minor equipment issues as they arise.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel on-site.
- Assist in digging operations as needed, ensuring proper techniques are applied for optimal results.
- Maintain clear communication with supervisors and other operators regarding project progress and any potential challenges.
Experience
- Proven experience in loader operation, preferably within a construction site environment.
- Familiarity with various types of heavy machinery, including but not limited to bulldozers, backhoes, and dump trucks.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to understand equipment functionality and perform basic repairs when necessary.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- Previous experience in paving operations is considered an asset but is not mandatory.
