The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for the identification, development and execution of sourcing strategies to achieve the best total value for the business unit. This includes category and or commodity strategies and execution, supplier relationship management, and supply base performance management. This position also provides Strategic Sourcing input and direction through the new product development (NPD)process. These inputs include supplier identification, qualification and selection.
- Develop, execute and implement annual cost reduction projects to drive positive impact to Material Margin
- Accountable for managing and developing a global supply chain, including supplier selection and relationship management
- Responsible for collecting and reporting annual compliance requirements from global supply base (Prop 65, RoHS, Conflict Minerals, REACH, etc)
- Develops and manages strategic relationships with preferred suppliers.
- Track record of working with Lean principles and implementing Kanban with suppliers.
- Monitor and improve supplier performance in terms of delivery, quality and cost.
- Monitor market fluctuations for key raw material commodities and how that impacts acquisition cost with suppliers.
- Partners with product development team and/or Product Managers and Quality in the identification and qualification of suppliers for new products.
- Drive continuous improvement to documented processes and procedures.
- Implement root cause and corrective action for discrepant material from suppliers.
- Manage overall sourcing department for the business unit including the direct management of Strategic Sourcing Team Members
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in purchasing/sourcing, with at least 5 of those years managing employees.
- Able to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of best practices in strategic sourcing for multiple categories and suppliers within the manufacturing field.
- Able to utilize business and market data to identify and prioritize sourcing opportunities.
- Must possess strong negotiation skills and have experience managing a global supply base.
- Able to identify and manage Cost Reduction and NPD projects from concept to implementation and successfully drive project results.
- Expertise in the sourcing of raw materials for manufacturing (i.e. industrial metals, Polypropylene plastic).
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field.
- This role can be Hybrid or Remote but must have the ability to be onsite at Sycamore as needed for key business requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- CPIM or CPM certification preferred
The expected annual salary for this position is between $108,120.00 and $145,696.00 and will be eligible for incentive pay. This range represents a good faith estimate for the position and actual compensation will be based on numerous factors including knowledge, location, skills, training and experience.
