Position Details:
Ideal Instruction provides professional development training for teachers and school leaders by using video technology as a learning tool and for highlighting exemplary teaching practices across school networks and districts.
Ideal Instruction is seeking a talented videographer to film in school settings for the purpose of documenting teaching practices and recording interviews with teachers and students. You will use your technical knowledge of videography and audio recording to deliver high quality footage that will be utilized in professional development resources.
Additionally, Ideal Instruction is in the process of building AI tools for professional learning. Your knowledge of how to use AI in combination with video will be used to create and produce tools for the company.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in video production and four years’ experience required
- Prior experience filming in classrooms and live events is a must
- Must have your own equipment, including a 4K video camera (camera must have unlimited continuous maximum recording time), wireless lavalier microphone, shotgun microphone to mount on camera, monopod, tripod, SD cards and sufficient batteries to film daily assignments up to 7 hours long. If you have backup options for all of your equipment that is a major plus.
- Must own a computer with reliable internet connection to upload footage to Google Drive within 48 hours after each filming assignment.
- Ability to capture a continuous shot of an entire lesson (45 - 90 minutes long), using a monopod to roam throughout the room and capture student audio while maintaining steady, usable footage even while moving throughout the room.
- Ability to work independently with school staff on site, including a positive and upbeat personality. You are a team player who brings energy and professionalism to every filming assignment, flexibility to accommodate filming schedules that occur within a busy school day.
- Ability to set up, film and conduct interviews alone.
- Ability to coach teachers and school leaders how to participate in filming productions even if they have no prior experience being on camera.
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro
- Teaching and AI experience is a plus
Summary:
Essential duties for this role include:
- Punctual arrival on site for all filming assignments according to the director’s instructions for each filming assignment
- Ability to attend virtual meetings with Director in advance of filming to confirm filming priorities and all necessary logistics
- Desire to continuously grow and improve your videography skills to meet the criteria for instructional filming assignments
- Ability to work very quickly under short timelines and remain professional at all times, especially while on site at school locations
Salary : $45 - $65
