Compensation: $21.60/hr
Schedule: 4x10 work schedule. Tuesday - Friday 4:30am - 3:00pm Pacific Time

The Role:
As a Laboratory Analyst 2, you play a key role in performing a variety of moderate and waived testing to include screening toxicology drug analysis, in a clinic or laboratory setting. Additional responsibilities include:
- Analyzes patient specimens by performing and verifying diagnostic medical laboratory tests and following department protocols.
- Makes independent decisions relating to patient testing and prioritization of testing.
- Processes, packages, and ships specimens to be transported to the main laboratory for further testing.
- Performs and reports quality control on all instrumentation before reporting test results following established quality control policies and procedures.
- Performs preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on a variety of instruments and equipment and documents appropriately.
- Verifies all normal and abnormal results, correlates abnormal test results with other patient data, seeks pathologist or manager consultation if necessary, and notifies appropriate medical staff of test results.
- Maintains patients' medical records and verifies accuracy.
- Assists in ordering laboratory supplies and necessities to maintain appropriate level of inventory.
- Performs and reports routine and STAT laboratory tests of moderate complexity.
- Complies with national PHI laws including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
- Maintains continual sustained attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in science with at least 24 semester hours in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Laboratory Science or a combination.
- Attention to detail, specimen processing, immunoassay instrumentation
Preferred
- 1 year experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
