Position: Supplier Quality Engineer
Location: Smyrna TN
Position Overview: As a Supplier Quality Engineer at Ideal Tridon, you will be responsible for ensuring supplier compliance with quality standards and government regulations, conducting audits, and working closely with suppliers to drive continuous improvement and resolve quality issues. You will be integral to maintaining the high standards of our products while supporting production and product development.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, government requirements, and company guidelines to meet customer requirements.
- Protect company, supplier, and customer proprietary and confidential information.
- Communicate the voice of the customer in relation to quality issues.
Duties & Functions:
- Evaluate potential suppliers and conduct supplier audits to assess their capabilities, processes, and quality management systems.
- Establish and maintain supplier performance monitoring systems and develop improvement plans to enhance quality and reliability.
- Conduct root cause analysis and initiate corrective actions to address quality non-conformance issues.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supplier base.
- Participate in new product development projects to ensure suppliers meet quality requirements for components and materials.
- Guide suppliers on quality management best practices and relevant industry standards.
- Perform other quality-related duties as assigned to support production.

- Proficient in root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of five years of experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment; previous supplier quality experience is preferred.
- Certification as a lead quality auditor is preferred.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems and core tools training.
Physical Requirements:
- Travel required, including international.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and/or sitting and reaching with hands and arms.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
