In this position you will be involved in all aspects of fiber network engineering, from initial design and documentation to GIS updates and supporting the evolution of our automated design software. Your work will help us expand our network, enhance existing services, and meet the increasing demand for high-speed internet

This position offers work location flexibility from home and our offices located in Buhler, KS and Fowler, KS.

Key Responsibilities
- Record keeping of IdeatekNet’s FTTH network in a Geographic Information System (GIS) database includes, but is not limited to: drafting, corrections to fiber network designs, generating construction reports, and consolidating information from various sources to determine suitability of a given area for construction.
- Develop / design layouts of fiber optic networks to service residents and businesses.
- Create splicing documents for fiber network design.
- Generate a Bill of Materials (BOM) from a design.
- Generate construction documents for a design.
- Assist with cost estimates for new projects.
- Assist with the high-level Vetro (GIS) design
- Review detailed network designs for quality assurance
- Support the review and development of the automated design software.
- Update Vetro GIS database with information from as-built construction maps
- Strong desire and ability to solve problems

Experience/Knowledge Required:
- 2 years of experience with designing or working within a fiber optic network
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics and drawings
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Adtran and Calix GPON and DWDM
- GIS based systems
- Handling large scale builds including of FTTH and State funded projects
