Systems Administrator /Service Technician

Summary:
IDEMIA National Security Solutions is seeking a Systems Administrator /Service Technician with an Active Secret Security Clearance to maintain and support highly specialized passport personalization hardware and IT systems to include laser engravers. These positions reside and operate at the Passport Offices and Agencies for the U.S. State Department through a national system of regional service centers across the U.S.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide maintenance of hardware for servers and workstations to include applications, planning, installation, training, support and monitoring.
- Perform development and maintenance of diagrams, system configurations and technical documentation.
- Provide server/workstation security services.
- Conduct analysis of vulnerabilities then provide remedial solutions and ensure compliance.
- Provide maintenance services on printers.
- Conduct periodic cleaning, maintenance, replacement parts, refurbishment, calibration, of the card printers and related equipment as necessary.
- Plan and coordinate upgrades as needed and perform monthly restorations for validation of user data integrity.
- Provide on-going management of data, systems, software and hardware to include back-ups, restorations, and purges.
- Monitor and document irregular performance of servers, workstations, and services including trends.
- Document and maintain site configurations and changes.
- Ensure card printers are fully operational during normal business hours and have the capability to personalize passport cards in under 24 hours.
- Required clearance: Secret (Active)
- Education: BS degree preferred
- Experience: 8 -10 years as a hardware technician
- Certifications: Preferred CompTIA A Certification, CompTIA Network Certified; CompTIA Security Certified
- Familiarity with electro-mechanical devices, laser printers, or high-speed scanning equipment.
- Knowledge of PCs, computer peripherals, and the MS windows environment.
- Ability to read and understand schematic diagrams and be non-adverse to dis-assembly and reassembly on complex mechanical devices including motors and fiber optic scanning systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Good verbal communications skills.
- U.S. citizenship without dual citizenship required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of State background check.
- Must either have or be able to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
- Must have or be able to obtain IA210 Cyber Security/Systems Administration certification.
