What are the responsibilities and job description for the VIE - Continuous Improvement Engineer position at IDEMIA?
The Continuous Improvement Engineer & iWay Coordinator holds a dual role that combines the responsibilities of driving process improvements and maintaining corporate standards through the IDEMIA iWay framework. In this key position, the CI Engineer will lead efforts to identify, analyze, and implement process improvement initiatives, while also ensuring that all corporate standards are upheld and generating efficiency-focused projects in alignment with the LEAN Manufacturing methodology.
Key Missions
Process Analysis & Bottlenecks identification
- Conduct thorough analysis of current processes to identify areas for improvement, by analyzing DPP & OEE variations and/or any other KPI defined throughout the factory.
- Map and analyze the processes to identify value/non-value added steps, and pinpoint inefficiencies and bottlenecks in production workflows.
- Collaborate with stakeholders on the shop floor to understand pain points and gather insights into process challenges.
- Work with each APUs to identify & define missing key performance indicators (KPIs).
Continuous Improvement Initiatives & Project Monitoring
- Lead and manage end-to-end process improvement projects, employing Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Ensure 5S is respected and continuously improved in all areas.
- Develop and implement strategies to streamline operations, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of improvement initiatives.
- Utilize your Lean Manuf. knowledge to drive process improvements, employing tools such as DMAIC and statistical analysis.
- Apply root cause analysis techniques to uncover underlying issues and develop effective solutions.
- Regularly monitor the effectiveness of implemented improvements, analyzing data and making adjustments as needed.

- Provide training and mentorship to team members on Lean Manufacturing methodologies and process improvement tools.

- Work closely with top-management staff to establish sustainable Lean practices that empower employees, accelerate change, and enable personal and team development.
- Audit and ensure that all standards defined at corporate (iWay Assessment items) level are adhered to.
- Proficient in English, both spoken and written
- Mechanical/Industrial Engineering Degree or Equivalent
- 2 years of industrial background (experience in coordinating production activities is a plus)
