Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sander to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces for finishing by sanding, smoothing, and polishing various materials. This role requires a strong understanding of finishing techniques, as well as the ability to work effectively with a variety of tools and equipment. The Sander will play a crucial role in ensuring high-quality finishes on products, contributing to the overall success of our projects.
Holiday pay after 90 days.
Paid vacation after one year.
Shift:
Monday - Thursday 7 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and Friday 7 a.m. - 11 a.m.
Responsibilities
- Operate sanding machines and hand tools to achieve desired surface finishes.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, filling, and smoothing as necessary before sanding.
- Inspect finished surfaces for quality assurance, ensuring they meet company standards.
- Collaborate with carpenters and other tradespeople to understand project requirements and specifications.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition, performing routine maintenance as needed.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines while working in a construction environment.
- Assist in assembling and fabricating components as required for various projects.
Experience:
- Familiarity with construction techniques is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality work consistently.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of safety practices related to sanding and finishing processes is essential.
