With expansion across the group they're now in a position to have someone head up their Specialty business as an Associate General Counsel / Deputy General Counsel.

About the Role:
As Deputy General Counsel, you’ll be the CEO’s go-to legal advisor, providing strategic counsel across the business. This role is designed for an ambitious legal leader who is ready to take on broader responsibilities and step into the General Counsel seat in the near term.
You’ll help guide corporate legal strategy, oversee key legal and regulatory initiatives, support business growth, and lead on complex commercial matters. You’ll also play a hands-on role in shaping internal legal infrastructure and managing external counsel relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team
- Lead on commercial, regulatory, governance, and risk-related matters
- Support business development, M&A, and market expansion initiatives
- Build and enhance internal legal operations, policies, and compliance protocols
- Represent the legal function at the senior leadership level
- Help shape the company’s long-term legal and business strategy
- Manage external counsel relationships and oversee legal spend
- Prepare to transition into the General Counsel role
What We’re Looking For:
- JD from a top law school; licensed to practice in the U.S.
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience, including in-house legal work in the insurance or financial services industry
- Deep knowledge of commercial, corporate, and regulatory law
- Proven ability to work directly with C-suite leadership
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong business acumen
- Ambition to grow into a General Counsel role
- Collaborative, solutions-oriented, and confident in a fast-paced environment
