MOLDING TECHNICIAN
DESCRIPTION :
Perform cavity changes, mold changes, minor repairs, purging, & trouble shooting when a cavity or mold change is required.
REQUIREMENTS :
Must have good attitude and be a team player
Must be able to work independently and follow directions
Ability to make sound decisions
Must be able to adhere to the IDEX Difference
Must have good attendance
Must be willing to work overtime
Must have basic computer skills such as Excel, Access, and Email
Must be able to comprehend simple and moderately complex instructions
PHYSICAL DEMAND :
The ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, crouch and climb to various heights
The ability to wear a safety harness and any other fall protection required
The ability to lift up to 50lbs
PREFERRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE :
Demonstrated experience working with hand tools
Demonstrated experience performing basic electrical wiring
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
Primary Responsibilities :
Follow safety protocol for position
Review production schedule and follow priorities
Safely setup injection molding machines and tooling including but not limited to Mold Bases, water lines, Switches and any other mold base extremities
Operate Bridge Cranes to position mold tools on storage racks; inside press or on floor
Operate press controls
Monitor tool cleanliness and ensure tool cleaning is conducted as required
Ensure correct raw material is being supplied and delivered to the molding equipment and proper specifications are being followed
Clean platen and ensure bolt holes are safe
Ensure mold changes are complete in defined timeframes
Maintain good housekeeping within department
Follow all work instructions
Maintain good and continuous communication with Supervisor and Process tech
Be a positive and productive contributor to the team
Actively monitor molding injection presses to ensure machines stay running to full capacity during scheduled operation
Other duties as assigned
Move up 1 Wage Level = 3% increase or to minimum of Wage Level (greater)
Move up 2 Wage Levels = 5% increase or to minimum of Wage Level (greater)
Move down a Wage Level = Loss of one half of your last promotional increase
Shift Differential of $1.50 applies to this position
