This is an in-person position based in Farmington, CT. Compensation package includes base salary, bonus, and 401k match. This is once in a lifetime opportunity to drive positive change and work in a dynamic, bureaucracy-free environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement and maintain the LMS (Learning Management System) and leverage it to ensure compliance to training requirements.
Ensure training strategy is aligned with business objectives, and training materials are accurate and effective.
Collaborate with third-party provider to deploy TWI (Training Within Industry) methodology, particularly in Operations.
Align and coordinate with Department Managers to understand and address training needs and gaps.
Lead the Train-the-trainer program to develop SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) who are capable of training employees on new skills.
Major Challenges:
Need to very quickly close skills gap between recently-retired long-term associates and new hires.
Training material must be updated to capture “tribal knowledge” that may have been lost.
Training records contained in the existing training matrix must be updated and loaded into the new LMS.
Collaborate with department leaders to assess training needs and monitor for compliance.
Expected Performance Outcomes:
Implementation of TWI framework within 3 months and the new LMS within 6 months.
Fully updated training requirements and records within 9 months.
95% or higher compliance to training requirements by the end of 2025.
Effective training measured by a 50% or greater reduction in defects resulting from operator non-compliance or workmanship issues.
Required Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Organizational Development, Engineering, or Business or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years’ overall training experience in a manufacturing environment.
Proven track record in training program design and/or project management.
Direct experience with TWI and/or Cornerstone strongly preferred.
Technical Knowledge/Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to collaborate with all levels of team members.
Can translate Operational or Business needs to Training strategy.
