SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position operates and sets up a variety of machine tools, ensuring they are calibrated for specific tasks, to produce precision parts and assemblies. The position inspects parts and assemblies with precision measuring tools and equipment.
REPORTING TO: Production Supervisor
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Adhere to all applicable Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) regulations, policies, and procedures.
Actively participate in applicable Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) programs.
Independently set up and operate CNC and manual machining equipment, including but not limited to: mills, lathes, grinders, wire EDM.
Write basic programs for CNC machines (mills, lathes, wire EDM) and make edits to existing programs as necessary while documenting all new programs and program modifications utilizing CAM software.
Design fixtures to facilitate efficient machining of components.
Document activities in CMMS system as well as through written and verbal communication.
Write setup and inspection procedures as required.
Plan and kit machining jobs.
Help maintain parts Kanban in the shop and on the factory floor.
Work as part of the BAND-IT IDEX team by interfacing with various factory resources to execute the business plan.
Support continuous improvement through the proposal and execution of solutions as well as participation in existing programs.
Ability to work overtime and weekends as necessary.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
NIMS Level I Certification, required.
Applicable AAS degree or certification, preferred.
2-6 years of experience in a high mix/low volume shop, preferred.
Experience working with CNC mills and lathes, HAAS preferred.
Experience working with wire EDM equipment, GF/Agie Charmilles preferred.
Experience with four plus axis machines.
Experience programming in Mastercam and/or ESPRIT software.
