What are the responsibilities and job description for the MLOps Principal Engineer position at IDEXX Laboratories, Inc?
As an MLOps Principal Engineer, you will lead the team's implementation and maintenance of machine learning infrastructure and operational processes. You will work closely with data scientists, software engineers, and other stakeholders to design, build, and deploy scalable machine learning models and tools for healthcare applications. The Machine Learning Operations team supports all projects in the Center of Excellence, and you will contribute to high-impact problems.
In this role:- You will design and implement machine learning infrastructure and pipelines for the Clinical Informatics Data Science team.
- You will work with data scientists and software engineers to integrate machine learning models into production systems.
- You will develop and maintain automated testing, monitoring, and reporting processes for machine learning models and infrastructure.
- You will develop, implement, and optimize data preprocessing and feature engineering pipelines.
- You will collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to ensure compliance with relevant data privacy and security regulations.
- You will develop and implement best practices for machine learning development, deployment, and maintenance.
- You will mentor and train other members of the team in machine learning and MLOps best practices.
- You have a degree in computer science, Data Science, or a related field.
- You have experience in software engineering, data engineering, or machine learning, focusing on MLOps and productionizing ML models.
- You have experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
- You have excellent programming skills in Python and R; your experience in other languages, such as Java or C , is a plus.
- You have a deep knowledge of cloud computing platforms, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, and experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- You are familiar with data processing frameworks like Apache Spark, Hadoop, or Databricks, and have worked with large-scale, real-world datasets.
- Your understanding of clinical informatics and healthcare data standards, such as HL7, FHIR, and SNOMED, is a plus.
- You have excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- You can work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Base annual salary target: $125000 -$155000 (yes, we do have flexibility if needed)
