We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fire and Smoke Damper Technician to inspect, repair, and maintain fire and smoke dampers in various commercial settings. This role requires the ability to work independently, travel, and adhere to strict compliance regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of fire and smoke dampers, identifying deficiencies and ensuring proper functionality.
- Perform necessary repairs, including replacing components, adjusting mechanisms, and ensuring proper sealing.
- Fabricate and install sheet metal access doors as needed.
- Troubleshoot and repair damper actuators and associated control systems.
- Accurately document inspection data, including photographs and detailed survey reports, using electronic tablets.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy in all documentation and reporting.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and compliance regulations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in HVAC sheet metal work, specifically related to the inspection and repair of fire and smoke dampers.
- Ability to work at heights using ladders and navigate confined spaces above ceilings.
- Proficiency in cutting and installing sheet metal access doors.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing damper actuators.
- Ability to travel, including out-of-state travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively in a demanding environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
