Job Description:
Based in Buffalo, NY, the individual in this position is directly responsible for the development and performance of all outside sales activities pertaining to locksmith/dealer and commercial accounts in the Buffalo market. The individual is responsible for maintaining existing accounts and acquiring new business in the assigned territory. The individual is responsible for achieving maximum profitability and growth in line with the company's vision and values; this includes establishing plans and strategies to expand the customer base in the designated geographic area.
Responsibilities:
§ Interacting with existing and potential customers by phone, email, and in-person (for walk-in traffic/counter sales).
§ Preparing proposals for door/frame/hardware packages.
§ Using company-provided computer system and software to supply information on price and availability.
§ Order processing, follow-up with customer, and related customer service.
§ In addition to handling stock orders, this role includes processing special orders, presenting promotions, resolving pricing situations, handling customer returns and credit situations, and related tasks.
§ Manufacturer/vendor contact for factory orders.
§ Outbound customer calls and follow-up to assist in growing the local business.
§ Traveling to customer locations to meet potential/current customers for sales opportunities/obtaining measurements.
§ Growth in product knowledge in the areas of mechanical door hardware, doors and frames, and electronic access control systems.
§ Other duties as assigned.
Key Working Relationships:
The successful candidate will report to the General Manager at IDN Door & Hardware – Livonia, MI. The individual will also collaborate closely with other staff members and provide contributions that support customer retention goals and company/branch growth objectives.
Requirements:
§ Must be self-driven, trustworthy, teachable, and hardworking.
§ 1 to 3 years Sales/Customer Service experience preferred but not required.
§ Verbal and written communication skills.
§ Ability to learn computer software for performing job function.
§ Organizational skills with an ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
Ability to collaborate well with a team to achieve common goals.
