Position Summary:
Responsible for electrical labeling functions necessary to support Mastec Renewables at an assigned jobsite. This position will create and print required electrical labels, develop example placement of labels for the crews, create label “packages” per block, etc. to support the site for the duration of the electrical labeling needs. The Electrical Coordinator II will serve as the subject matter expert for electrical labeling functions and train/mentor Electrical Coordinator Is.
Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions:
- Review drawings and create labels based on Issued for Construction Drawings (IFCs) and owner requirements
- Proactively order materials needed for labels
- Organize materials
- Print labels and stickers in accordance with regulation and advance of the site team’s need
- Develop and provide example placement of labels for the field teams to ensure site consistency (i.e. equip ID sticker in top left, danger warning front and center, etc.)
- Create label “packages” for crew per block with sign out sheet to ensure proficiency and tracking for the field
- Accommodate any “as-needed” site signage, labels, stickers, etc.
- Support Quality documentation in partnership with Field Engineer and Field Quality Manager
- Building out cheat sheets for the foreman
- Coordinate and present any training needed for Foreman or site teams
- Assist in the development and updating of Electrical Labeling standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Communicate with Electrical Construction Managers (CM) on site regarding any concerns or additional needed items for proactive abilities
- Ensure sufficient supplies of materials and equipment; work with Electrical CM to order more supplies as needed
- Ensure any documentation is complete and accurate as required by regulations, owners, or site leadership
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for electrical labeling functions
- Train and mentor new Electrical Coordinator Is
- Review label placement with Clients and Construction Mangers
- Create label schedules based on printer software and IFC drawings
- Support the Electrical CM as needed with administrative, tracking/receiving, or procurement related tasks
- Support Site Admin and other site projects as needed and time allows
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education and Work Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Three to five years of construction experience required
- Previous electrical and electrical labeling experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward Zero Injury principles
- Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must have knowledge of electrical regulations and label/sticker standards
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
- Ability to read drawings and create plan for labels
Working Environment:
- Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions
- Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and extreme heat
- Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration
- Noise level in the work environment is usually loud
