Job Summary:
The Financial Controller will oversee the financial operations of a construction company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with industry regulations. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and a comprehensive understanding of construction finance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure all financial reporting is accurate and completed on time.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses. Provide insights and recommendations based on financial performance.
- Cost Management: Monitor project costs and budgets, ensuring effective cost control and financial efficiency. Analyze cost structures and identify opportunities for savings.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, tax laws, and financial reporting standards. Coordinate audits and implement recommendations.
- Cash Flow Management: Manage company cash flow, including monitoring receivables, payables, and managing relationships with banks and financial institutions.
- Risk Management: Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Oversee insurance, bonding, and other risk management activities.
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop the finance team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
- Project Support: Provide financial support for project bidding, contract negotiations, and change order management. Ensure financial implications are considered in all project decisions.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field. CPA, CMA, or other relevant certifications preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year
- Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems. Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of construction accounting principles, project cost control, and financial analysis.
