General Maintenance Worker
Salary: $25.00 $4.93 (SCA wage) / hour
Inspection Experts, Inc. (IEI) is seeking for a full-time entry level general maintenance worker to join our team. Do you thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment? Responsibilities Include:
- Perform repair of general maintenance work of facility including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and painting.
- Plans assigned work projects; prepares estimates of time and materials needed to perform assigned repairs and maintenance.
- Ensures adequate materials and supplies are available for proper performance of maintenance work; orders and maintains inventory of equipment, tools, parts, and supplies used in the maintenance and repairs duties.
- Inspects building, garage, warehouses and commercial spaces noting safety issues and/or repairs.
- Identify building maintenance needs and take corrective actions.
- Moves office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials as requested.
- Reconfigures, installs, and adjusts office modular furniture and work spaces.
- Addresses and service requests as needed.
- Performs minor maintenance on electrical systems; repairs and replaces lamps, ballasts, luminaries, and electrical fixtures.
- Schedule, monitor, and evaluate contractor work.
- Maintain and repair automatic door systems and motorized vehicle gate systems.
- Repairs and installs locks; makes keys.
- Reads and interprets technical manuals, sketches, diagrams, and blueprints to facilitate installation, servicing, repair, and replacement.
- Maintains compliance with building, state, and local codes and regulations.
- Operates a small truck and performs utility duties such as loading, hauling, and unloading of furniture, materials and supplies.
- Maintains accurate manual and computerized logs and records of work performed and materials and equipment used; prepares reports (e.g., requisitions, accident reports, etc.) as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Skills & Experience:
- 3 years in a construction or building facilities position.
- Associates Degree or equivalent work experience.
- Perform semi-skilled work in carpentry, plumbing, roofing, painting, mechanical, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and electrical trades.
- Perform a variety of complex technical tasks in the maintenance and repair of office buildings, warehouses and parking lots.
- Operate a variety of vehicular and stationary mechanical equipment in a safe and effective manner.
- Safely and effectively use and operate hand tools, mechanical equipment, power tools, and light to medium equipment required for the work.
- Maintain tools and equipment in a clean working condition providing for proper security. Accurately determine project material needs and recommend purchases.
- Correctly interpret and apply the policies, procedures, laws, and regulations pertaining to assigned programs and functions.
- Read, interpret, and apply a wide variety of technical information from manuals, drawings, specifications, layouts, blueprints, and schematics.
- Follow department policies and procedures related to assigned duties. Make basic accurate arithmetic calculations.
- Use English effectively to communicate in person, over the telephone, and in writing.
- Use tact, initiative, prudence, and independent judgment within general policy, procedural, and legal guidelines.
- Establish, maintain, and foster positive and harmonious working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
- Be able to lift 100 pounds.
- Be able to climb a ladder.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Will be required to pass a security clearance investigation and drug screen.
