What are the responsibilities and job description for the VDC Field Detailer position at IES Communications?
Job Summary:
The VDC Field Detailer is responsible for working on the jobsite and conducting audits or assisting in the installation of VDC projects according to the approved shop drawings and models.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Interface with field construction personnel to coordinate the installation with VDC using Navisworks and/or shop drawings.
- Communicate installation progress to the VDC department and create red-lined/as-built drawings according to field conditions.
- Audit installation to ensure the accuracy of field conditions according to the approved design, shop drawings, and/or model.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of each project/phase through completion and approval of project close-out.
- Coordinate and troubleshoot installation issues between field conditions and approved model.
- Verify the completeness and accuracy of installations according to the approved model.

Qualifications
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Must be self-motivated, professional, and positive in approach.
- Must possess critical thinking skills as well as the ability to effectively read, write, and give oral reports.
- Must have the ability to interpret building plans and other documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reports, and quality requirements.
- Must be able to walk a jobsite, climb stairs/ladders and deal with extreme weather.
- Must possess good interpersonal, verbal, and a collaborative working style as well as a high-energy level.
- Must possess strong written and oral communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multi-task and be organized
- Ability to work effectively both independently and on a team.
- Flexible in handling assignments and attention to detail.
- Regular attendance is mandatory
Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements:
- Construction experience preferred.
- Must possess at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work independently.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and/or Navisworks is a plus.
