Title: Electrical Engineer
Status: Exempt
Reports To: Engineering Manager
Location: Tulsa, OK
Summary:
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for producing designs for generator enclosures and systems. Direction will be given from the engineering manager through submittal drawings and schedule to carry out the detailed production design. It will be the engineer’s responsibility to take the customer approval package and create a production ready design with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and Design electrical systems, by selecting products, components, and materials to meet the application and customer requirements.
- Confirms system's and components' capabilities by designing testing methods, testing procedures. Support Customer system testing, Witness testing.
- Develop solutions to support product sales by studying customer requirements, researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials.
- Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for building and assembling electrical components, soliciting observations from the manufacturing floor.
- Assures product quality by designing electrical testing methods, coordination with quality department and quality systems.
- Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests, Sales and Customer direct support, Warranty and Field Service support.
- Maintains product and company reputation by insuring compliance with State and Local regulations and the National Electric Code (NEC).
- PLC programing knowledge and Interface with building management systems and communications equipment
- Creates and Maintains product database to support product engineering and sales departments.
- Participate in training development projects for shop floor personnel and guiding field technicians.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in market related societies.
Specific Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelors in Electrical Engineering
- 4 years’ experience Power distribution components (circuit breakers, switchboards, transformers, disconnects, distribution panels, AC/DC wiring)
- Personable/Customer service oriented
- Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel Spreadsheets, CAD or Electrical CAD experience.
- Reliable and detail oriented and able to function at high level in fast paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to solve problems and work independently with minimal supervision.
