Title:  Industrial Painter

Status:  Hourly

Reports To:  Production Supervisor

Location:  Tulsa, OK

Position Summary:

Industrial Painter will be responsible for paint prep, including grinding, chemical cleaning, caulking and performs any combination of essential responsibilities as directed.

Essential Responsibilities:

Demonstrates working knowledge of electrical tools, equipment/materials, safe work habits and the proper care for tools and equipment.

Works from all types of ladders.

• Understand, support and execute all work in a safe manner and contribute to a culture that promotes safety as its overriding priority.
• Perform a variety of duties, including Welding, working with various hand tools, fabrication and assembly work involving standardized work elements.
• Read, comprehend, and follow written, standardized work instructions and trained procedures such as blueprints and SOP.
• Work cooperatively with others in a team environment.
• Complete tasks within designated timeframes to meet production standards.
• Regularly report for work on time to support production startup and throughput goals.
• Must be willing to work overtime (all shifts)
• Must be willing to work weekend shifts when mandator

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

• 3 years of experience in industrial painting in a heavy manufacturing or industrial environment
• Able to mix and identify paints
• Be quality oriented and familiar with quality processes
• Able to read a tape measure
• Be detail oriented and dependable
• Able to work OT when needed and odd hours upon request
• Flexibility to work in other related departments as required.

Working Conditions:

• Job requires working in all elements, depending on job location, heat, cold, rain, or snow and environmental conditions that present exposure to many odors, fumes, materials, substances and particulate matter over which the company has no control and often no forewarning of existence unless they are considered hazardous materials; jobs generally are in industrial plants or sites with typical industrial conditions including, but not limited to, dust, including from plant operations and additional typical potential hazards company  strives to protect those who work from heights and in

compact spaces, both indoors and outdoors; may include exposure to loud and/or repetitive noises. 

• Must be able to work from all type of ladders. (Must be able to carry and relocate 12' stepladder by oneself. Note: Employee's personal weight and personal tools cannot exceed weight limits of the ladder i.e. class 1‐, class 1A ‐ 300lbs.).
• Must always wear personal protective equipment i.e. safety glasses, work boots, or safety harnesses, protective suit, as required per project; and respirators when required.
• Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.

Physical & Mental Requirements:

• Maintaining body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling when walking, digging, standing, crouching, ascending or descending stairs.
• Bend, crouch, stoop, squat, craw, climb, kneel, balance, and work in small places.
• Climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolds.
• Bending body at waist, the legs at the knees, extending arms and hands in any direction in a repetitive manner.
• Standing, walking, operating motor vehicles for extended periods as needed.
• Repeating tasks of short duration according to a set procedure.
• Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Using upper extremities to apply or exert a force up to 20 lbs.
• Individual will be respirator fit-tested and pulmonary tested.
• Strong vision (naturally or with correction) to see and distinguish colors.
• Ability to access construction areas from street level to all levels of the project structure, when only access is by O.S.H.A. approved ladder or stairs still under construction.
• Ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with others in the workplace.
• Ability to concentrate on a task for long periods without being distracted.
