Job Title:              Production Scheduler

Location:             Tulsa, OK (On-Site)

Role Type:           Full-Time, Salaried

Reports To:          General Manager

 

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Production Scheduler to join our operations team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining production schedules, ensuring that manufacturing processes run smoothly and efficiently while meeting customer demands. The Production Scheduler will collaborate with various departments such as production, inventory control, purchasing, and quality assurance to ensure optimal use of resources and minimize production delays. 

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Create and Manage Production Schedules: Develop, maintain, and update daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on customer orders, inventory levels, and production capacity.
  • Monitor Production Progress: Track and ensure adherence to production schedules, identify delays or bottlenecks, and proactively resolve scheduling conflicts to maintain timely deliveries.
  • Coordinate with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with production, materials, procurement, quality control, and shipping departments to align production plans with supply chain needs and inventory levels.
  • Optimize Production Resources: Analyze production capacities, labor, and material availability to create efficient and balanced schedules. Adjust plans as necessary based on machine availability, staffing levels, and material shortages.
  • Troubleshoot Scheduling Issues: Respond to any changes or disruptions in the production process (e.g., machine breakdowns, supply chain delays) and adjust schedules accordingly to minimize impact on delivery timelines.
  • Report and Document Production Performance: Provide regular updates and reports on production progress, delays, and inventory levels to management and other key stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve scheduling processes and enhance overall efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and throughput.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in production scheduling, manufacturing, or operations planning.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, production workflows, and inventory management.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in scheduling software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Excel, or other ERP systems).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex scheduling problems.

Attention to Detail:

  • High level of accuracy in managing schedules, identifying potential issues, and ensuring timely deliveries.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with cross-functional teams and management.

Physical Requirements:

 

Possess good physical stamina and coordination. Specific physical requirements of the position include the ability to:

Walk and stand for prolonged periods of time.

Wear personal protective equipment, for example: safety glasses, gloves, and safety shoes.

Work in a loud manufacturing environment that is not climate controlled (conditions can be hot or cold).

Specific Qualifications

Must be able to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen, and when applicable if duties involve operating motor vehicle must be able to pass motor vehicle record check.
