Job Title: Welder/Fabricator
Shift: 1st (6am-2pm) Monday-Friday

Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join our team. This position will focus primarily on MIG welding (95% of the work) and requires proficiency in welding aluminum, steel, and stainless steel. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in structural and sheet metal welding, including work with structural members, heavy welding and tubing. You will also be required to perform weld tests, read tape measures, and work at heights on platform ladders and scissor lifts.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- MIG Welding: Perform 95% MIG welding, primarily on aluminum, steel, and stainless steel components, ensuring strong and precise welds.
- Structural & Sheet Metal Welding: Weld heavy tubing and sheet metal (14 gauge), including structural and plenum work.
- Fabrication: Assist in the fabrication of custom components, ensuring accuracy in dimensions and design specifications.
- Weld Testing: Conduct weld tests to ensure the strength, integrity, and quality of the welds.
- Blueprint & Tape Measure Reading: Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine welding requirements; accurately measure and cut materials using tape measures.
- Fraction to Decimal Conversions: Use basic math skills to convert fractions to decimals and ensure the accuracy of measurements for welding projects.
- Work at Heights: Safely operate platform ladders and scissor lifts to perform welding tasks in elevated work areas.
- Safety & Cleanliness: Follow all safety protocols and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE); maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- MIG Welding Expertise: Proficiency in MIG welding, especially on aluminum, steel, and stainless steel.
- Structural & Sheet Metal Welding: Strong background in structural welding and experience with welding sheet metal (as thin as 14 gauge).
- Measurement Skills: Ability to read tape measures accurately and make precise measurements.
- Mathematical Ability: Comfort with converting fractions to decimals and applying basic math to welding tasks.
- Work at Heights: Ability to safely perform welding tasks while working at heights on platform ladders and scissor lifts.
- Fabrication: Experience with fabricating and assembling metal parts as needed.
- Quality Assurance: Strong attention to detail to ensure that all welds meet quality standards and specifications.
Education & Experience:
- Experience: At least 2 years of welding experience, including MIG welding, structural welding, and sheet metal welding.
- Certification: Weld test required for position.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with working with blueprints, hand tools power tools, and welders
- Math Skills: Proficient in reading and converting fractions to decimals.
- Preferred: Welding certification (e.g., AWS) and experience working with a variety of welding techniques and materials.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry materials up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to work at heights using platform ladders and scissor lifts.
- Ability to work in various positions, including standing, bending, kneeling, and overhead welding.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring precision and attention to detail for long periods.
