What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tower Climbing Tech position at IET Systems?
Job Duties:
Must have the ability to climb towers with some knowledge of electronics. Must be willing to travel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: Other duties may be assigned.
- Training is provided but a basic understanding of electronics is important.
- High safety responsibilities.
- Ability to climb towers for installation of equipment including sensors, supports, water meters, cabling, bolting, rigging, hoisting, etc.
Build and test water meter sensors and electronics (will be trained)
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Ability to safely climb towers
- Knowledge of knots and tower rigging.
- First aid and rescue training
- Communication skills.
- Must be able to climb and perform work at various heights, up to 200 feet, for long periods of time.
- Must be willing to travel for up to two weeks at a time.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing
- Working in outdoor environments.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED); related trade school or military training preferred
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Must have, or be able to obtain, documented Authorized Climber and Competent Climber/Rescue certification from an accredited institution or through company certification.
- Must have, or be able to obtain, First Aid and CPR certification.
