OVERVIEW
The Credit Manager ensures that the issuance and maintenance of credit by the Company’s customers is appropriate and in accordance with Company policy.

POSITION RELATIONSHIPS

The Credit Manager will take action under the direct supervision of the US Division Controller. He or she will work collaboratively with members of all the Company’s departments. He or she will take action in a manner that supports the Accounting Department’s and Company’s Operating Plan and in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures, the Employee Handbook and applicable laws.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Issuance and Maintenance of Credit
1. Process new account set-ups and conduct credit investigations.
2. Review and maintain ongoing credit issuance to established customers.
3. Place collection calls pursuant to policy, conducting necessary correspondence and follow-up.
4. Supervise outside collection efforts when utilized.
5. Prepare, review and analyze various periodic credit and collection reports.
6. Maintain customer credit files.

Policies, Procedures and Supervision
7. Supervise the daily activities of the Credit Analyst, acting as a resource for training and questions.
8. Revise and maintain credit and collections procedures.
9. Process uncollectible account write-offs
10. Monitor bankruptcy filings by customers
11. Monitor performance of outside collection firms utilized and recommend changes.
12. Exercise sound business judgment in carrying out expenditures of the supervised departments, which are authorized by the Financial Plan; and in deciding to make expenditures outside of the ordinary course of business, refer to conferred authority.

Special Projects
13. Participate in special projects when requested.

TECHNICAL SKILLS
  • Education and/or Experience: A Bachelor’s degree and five to seven years of progressively responsible related experience; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations: A valid driver’s license and an ability to obtain a valid passport.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical and business information and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Computer Applications Skills: Ability to work in a Windows environment, to work with your department’s business applications and with standard current computer applications.

  • Movement: Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. Regularly required to sit and talk or hear. Occasionally required to stand and walk. Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Work Environment: Occasionally exposed to a distribution center or manufacturing environment and outside weather conditions. Occasionally exposed to fumes and airborne particles. Occasionally exposed to a noise level ranging from moderate to high. Occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
  • Travel: Occasionally required to perform work related travel.
