This is a full time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 8:00am until 5:00pm. This role requires a certain level of working hours flexibility to ensure customer responsiveness.

Required Education And Experience
This position is responsible for completing the design and development engineering activities of drive shafts and half shafts for assigned customers.

- Take ownership of assigned projects to ensure on-time delivery and quality
- Coordinate with other departments to evaluate and ensure sustainability of new and existing suppliers
- Lead the preparation process for design deliverables with due consideration for applicable customer requirements and cost reductions
- Capture all changes and modifications in the deliverables initiated during the Project, prior to release of deliverable
- Ensure appropriate checking & review of all documents / drawings before release at any Revision status
- Attend project review meetings
- Coordinate and track customer specific engineering changes or releases through the system
- Responsible for Engineering Change Management process and appropriate notifications
- Obtain specifications and required application information from customers
- Review IFA, supplier and customer test reports, determine and communicate required actions
- Design drive shaft components and assemblies that meet all customer and IFA specifications
- Review drive shaft and component models and drawings using IFA specified CAD or SAP system(s)
- Complete test and calculation orders to verify that designs meet all customer and company requirements
- Develop Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R) for components and drive shaft assembly and lead completion per customer and company timing requirements. Maintain report and regularly report status to company and customer teams
- Lead completion of Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis (DFMEA)
- Develop Bill of Materials (BOM) for all prototype and production drive shafts
- Complete internal prototype orders and coordinate fabrication of IFA and customer prototypes per customer and company timing requirements
- Lead problem solving teams to correct any design related concerns
- All employees are responsible for having an awareness and understanding of IFA North America’s commitment to IATF 16949
- Other duties as assigned
- Ability to interpret automotive drawings
- Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (G,D&T)
- Knowledge of and experience using the automotive Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) methodology
- Understanding of materials and design strength
- Demonstrated ability leading and working in a cross functional teams
- Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
- Strong verbal, listening and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills

Required Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent technical experience and training
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in engineering of drivetrain components
- Proven experience working with SAP/ERP system and respective quality management modules
- Proficiency with MS office suite and Catia CAD Design
- Basic Knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 14001
- Product knowledge and familiarity with propshaft and or half shaft components, CV-Joints
- Automotive manufacturing experience as a Tier 1 supplier
- Experience with IATF / ISO standards and procedures
