Job Summary:
Highly organized and detail-oriented Maintenance Planner for our Tier 1 automotive manufacturing team. This role is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime and efficiency. The Maintenance Planner will utilize eMaint (CMMS) and SAP (ERP) to manage work orders, track inventory, and optimize maintenance workflows for ICE and EV driveshaft production equipment.
Essential Functions:
- Work Order Management:
- Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance schedules using eMaint CMMS.
- Create, prioritize, and assign work orders to maintenance technicians based on urgency and resource availability.
- Monitor work order completion rates and follow up on outstanding tasks.
- Scheduling & Coordination:
- Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to schedule downtime for planned maintenance.
- Ensure minimal disruption to production while executing maintenance activities.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for outsourced maintenance work.
- Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Track maintenance KPIs, such as equipment downtime, MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), and MTTR (Mean Time To Repair).
- Utilize eMaint and SAP data to analyze trends and recommend process improvements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
- Technical Support & Documentation:
- Maintain up-to-date equipment maintenance records, manuals, and SOPs.
- Assist in developing job plans, work instructions, and training materials for technicians.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Required:
- 3 years of maintenance planning experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in eMaint (or similar CMMS) and SAP (or similar ERP system).
- Strong understanding of preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance practices.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to analyze maintenance data and drive process improvements.
- Familiar with 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles
- Familiar with OSHA, NIOSH, federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
- Familiar with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 requirements
- Must have working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical power transmission systems.
- Preferred:
- Experience in automotive Tier 1 manufacturing.
- Familiarity with maintenance best practices for driveshaft production equipment.
- Certifications in maintenance planning, reliability engineering, or asset management (e.g., CMRP, CRL).
Work Environment
- Manufacturing facility with exposure to industrial equipment and shop floor activity.
- Requires occasional on-site troubleshooting and coordination with maintenance and cross functional teams.

- Must be able to lift over 40 pounds on an infrequent basis: 30% of the time

- Vision is required to analyze and process work; and to work on computer terminal/machine centers, ect.
- Hearing is required for communicating to supervisor, co-workers, and employees via one-on-one, group meetings, and phone
- Must be able to work with paints/solvents/cleaners
- Must be able to work any shift as required including overtime, as needed
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM However, at times, due to business necessity a certain flexibility to include weekend work and after hours work is expected.
Travel
While this role typically does not require travel. Travel between sites and to any special training events may be necessary.
