Product Design & Development:
- Design, model, and prototype metal products using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Develop detailed drawings, including technical specifications, tolerances, and material requirements.
- Create 3D models and simulations to assess functionality, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Work closely with the manufacturing and production teams to ensure designs are practical and can be produced efficiently in the shop.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and clarify design specifications.
- Provide support to production teams during the fabrication process by troubleshooting design issues or modifications as required.
- Recommend appropriate materials and fabrication methods (e.g., welding, cutting, stamping, CNC machining) based on product requirements and design considerations.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to determine the best manufacturing processes that minimize cost while ensuring product quality.
- Conduct design reviews, simulations, and testing to validate product functionality and performance.
- Address design flaws, making necessary adjustments to improve functionality, ease of manufacturing, or cost.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design files, drawings, and revisions.
- Provide regular progress reports and updates on design status to the project management team.
- Suggest and implement design improvements to increase efficiency, reduce material waste, or enhance product durability.
- Stay updated on the latest trends in metal fabrication technologies and materials to introduce innovative solutions into designs.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience (2 years) in design engineering within a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools).
- Strong knowledge of metal materials and fabrication processes (welding, cutting, stamping, bending, etc.).
- Designing fixtures and tooling for metal companies, with a focus on sheet metal parts, stamping, and machining.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and their limitations.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting GD&T notes.
- Solid Works expertise.
- Experience with product design lifecycle, from concept through to production and testing.
- Understanding of engineering principles, technical specifications, and quality standards in metal manufacturing.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for stress testing and design validation.
- Experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) tools.
- Knowledge of welding codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME).
- Office and manufacturing environment.
- Occasional site visits and travel may be required.
