Job Description:
- Reviews, analyzes, and processes vouchers, invoices, travel, and special payments in support of the U.S. Department of State (DoS) operations.
About the Budget Division: We are a small, cohesive team with a significant impact on operations. The division provides financial and contractual assistance to several DoS Bureaus, Departments, Posts, and Financial Service Centers, both locally and internationally. The division manages and executes a $73 million program using a variety of one-year, multi-year, and no-year appropriations.

A Day in the Life as a Voucher Examiner: All invoices, vouchers, and payments are subject to quality assurance and monitoring by the Voucher Examiner. The Examiner verifies financial sources that are available and controls the type of funds used for payments. The Examiner oversees creating and keeping ledgers, logs, and excel files. Travel vouchers are reconciled by the Examiner in accordance with internal policies, DoS policy, and regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications:
• A high school diploma or equivalent. Some college or degree is preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in banking, finance, or accounting.
• Proficient with Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams, and Outlook).
• Possess the skills and knowledge to use various computer applications and software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and database management systems.
Preferred Skills
• Experience working with Federal agencies; DoS or U.S. Embassy experience highly desired.
• Experience with Federal accounting and financial systems.

Security Clearance Requirement
All contractors supporting this Department must possess or obtain a Secret security clearance.
Work Schedule
• The employee will work an 8-hour shift with a non-compensated 45-minute lunch.
• This is currently a hybrid position with 3 days teleworking and a minimum of 2 days on-site (this is subject to change).
