IFC’s Global Infrastructure Department is seeking an intern as part of our Global Internship Program (GIP). The Global Internship Program (GIP) offers highly motivated individuals an opportunity to be exposed to the mission and work of IFC and the broader World Bank Group and become part of the largest private sector development institution in the world. The program encourages individuals to bring new perspectives and innovative ideas to IFC’s work, while improving skills in a diverse and highly stimulating environment. Moreover, the Global Internship Program provides a unique opportunity to exchange ideas and network with international professionals dedicated to ending extreme poverty and boosting prosperity in the developing world.

Duties And Accountabilities
- Market and sector research and analysis related to focused topics in the cities, water and waste management area to support IFC’s active engagement in this priority area for sustainable development and climate impact
- Support the team on work related to strategic thought leadership, assessment of investment opportunities and industry dynamics
- Lead data collection and analysis to present the findings
- Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Master’s degree level program
- Preferred field of study: Masters in Business Administration (MBA); Finance; Economics; relevant Masters’ studies in the cities, water, waste area
- Minimum of 2 years of previous work experience
- Sector interest and experience in cities, water and waste
- Exposure and understanding of investments and financing instruments a plus
- Experience in undertaking and synthesizing industry research
- Familiarity with PowerPoint, Excel and additional data analysis tools
