SUMMARY:
The role of the Inventory and Pool Planner is to plan, execute, and finalize fulfillment of RPC orders based on the availability of the national pool, by effectively communicating with customer service, sales, service centers, production facilities, and third-party logistics providers. This position is responsible for managing orders for growers, retailers, regrind orders, and consignment warehouses, as well as balancing inventory positions at all service centers with inbound and outbound scheduling.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan the sourcing of RPC inventory by coordinating daily shipment volumes based upon service center wash output, production of new RPCs, open sales orders, tier rankings, and seasonal activity, aiming towards balancing supply and demand in the most efficient way possible.
- Analyse trends and market conditions for current and future customer ordering, noting seasonal demand, customer’s growing seasons, and buying patterns. Provide recommendations for business outlook and strategies to senior management.
- Make independent decisions on daily transport shipment activity to minimize costs and maximize service. Work closely with the service center operations team to effectively turn RPCs, utilizing cost-efficient sourcing solutions.
- Serve as consignment warehouse coordinator, reviewing orders and inventory levels daily compared to established targets and creating replenishment orders as needed.
- Utilizing customer’s growing season forecast, projected volumes, and buying patterns, this individual will create strategies to best meet inventory targets.
- Effective use of systems and processes to measure and monitor the impact of their decisions on company performance. This includes the preparation and execution of reports as needed to support business decisions above their area of influence.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of relevant experience
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MRP/ERP systems, and manipulating data to perform analysis.
- 4 years of inventory/materials planning experience.
- In-depth knowledge of logistics, supply chain planning, inventory, customer service, and transportation
- Process development experience

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Domestic geographical knowledge
- Inventory management knowledge and understanding
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to quickly interpret, analyze, and report data.
- Microsoft Office and advanced Excel skills are a requirement.
- SAP R3 proficiency
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proven planning and organizational skills
- Demonstrated success in handling multiple high-priority projects, in addition to normal responsibilities.
- Self-motivated to achieve goals.
